National removals from Asturias: one route, one crew, one closed price

A long-distance removal is not a local move with extra kilometres: the packing, the way the load is secured inside the lorry and above all the date planning are different. Dedicated or shared

• Dedicated — a lorry used only for your removal, with departure and delivery dates fixed in writing. This is the option when you have to hand over the keys on a specific day or need a delivery date fixed in writing.
• Shared (groupage) — your furniture travels with another removal on the same route and the price drops considerably because you only pay for the m³ you take up. In exchange, the departure date is coordinated with the rest of the load and you need some flexibility. We explain it in detail on shared removals from Asturias.

If you are not sure which suits you, tell us the approximate volume and your deadline: with those two facts the choice is usually obvious.

What sets the price of a national removal

Four factors, in this order:

1. Real volume in m³. This is what rules: the price of a national removal is built on the cubic metres your furniture takes up, not on the number of rooms.
2. Distance and route. Madrid (449 km) is not Marbella (1,032 km): the driving hours and the driver’s compulsory rest periods change.
3. Access at both ends. A flat with no lift, a narrow street, the distance from the door to the lorry, or the need for a furniture lift to bring items up the façade.
4. Added services. Full packing the day before, dismantling and assembly of furniture, storage between the move-out and the move-in date.

That is why we do not give rough prices over the phone: we measure the volume — with a free prior visit in Asturias, or from photos and video if you are already away — and only then close the price.

A closed quote, in writing

The quote for a national removal is fixed in writing before departure and that is what you are charged: no unforeseen extras appear at the destination. With a dedicated lorry you pay once unloading is finished; with a shared move you book your place with a 30 % deposit and pay the rest on unloading. If something changes against what was measured — more volume, an access different from the one agreed — we talk it through and agree it with you before going on, rather than invoicing a surprise at the end.

The return trip: same lorry, lower price

Once the lorry has unloaded, it comes back to Asturias anyway. On the Madrid → Asturias route we therefore apply the reduced return-trip price even if your removal travels alone: the only condition is that your dates fit that return trip. From other destinations, tell us when you need to move and we check whether we have a lorry routed that way: if it matches, the quote improves.

Dates, lead times and urgent removals

Tell us your destination and your approximate date when you ask for a quote and we will tell you the first available departure there. The earlier you write, the more room there is to fit your move in with a lorry already covering that route, which is what keeps the price down. If your departure is urgent, say so in your first message: we look at it separately and tell you what we can do.

If your move-out and move-in dates do not match, we keep your furniture in our storage facility in Oviedo until you can receive it.

National removal companies: what to check before hiring

Three checks you can run on any company, ours included:

• Who drives and who unloads. Many “national removals” are subcontracted to a haulier at the destination. Ask whether the unloading crew is the same one that loaded.
• What the insurance covers and up to what amount. The existence of an insurance policy does not mean it covers the value of your furniture.
• Whether the price is closed or estimated. An “indicative” quote given over the phone, without measuring volume or access, can change at the destination. Ask for it in writing.
